Celebrate Sequoia 2015
This year we are very excited to bring back Celebrate Sequoia, our school's dinner and auction fundraising event. Celebrate Sequoia 2015 will have a casual western theme and be held at The Back Forty Texas BBQ in Pleasant Hill on Saturday, March 28th from 6-10pm.
We are receiving donations every day, so get ready to bid on some great items, including weekend getaways, home improvement, photo shoots, bicycles, Disneyland tickets, a full orthodontic treatment from Dr. Michael Teichman as well as gift certificates to many local restaurants, family fun outings and personal pampering. Every dollar you spend at the auction will support our kids' learning at Sequoia.
So come hungry for the award winning pork ribs, marinated tri-tip and smoked salmon, and spend a fun evening with the families and staff of Sequoia Middle School!
This is a ticketless event. To be on the guest list, simply fill out the attached form and deposit with payment into the Celebrate Sequoia Box in the office.
Or for your convenience, you can purchase tickets on line through Eventbrite at Celebrate Sequoia. (Eventbrite does charge a convenience fee.)
We hope to see you at Celebrate Sequoia! For questions, please contact Jennifer Talbot at firstname.lastname@example.org
Renaissance applications will be available in the B-Side of the office beginning Fri., Jan. 30. Renaissance is a program that stresses “Excellence in Every Endeavor”. Students who qualify have a GPA of 3.0 or above and maintain satisfactory citizenship.
As a reminder, Renaissance applications are due back to the office by 3pm on Friday, Feb. 6. No exceptions will be made. Part of being a Renaissance student is being responsible, able to follow directions and completing a task on time.
Once the criteria is met, students will receive a Gold, Silver, Blue or White Renaissance card which entitles them to rewards and coupons. Gold Card recipients will be able to attend the Gold Card Lunch in March!
All School Reading Challenge
Is your student up for the CHALLENGE? In November, the school is launching an all-school Reading Challenge. Regular reading as a child encourages a life-long reading habit. Between now and April 30, your child can submit an entry form (available in the library) for every book that he or she reads. There will be individual prizes for the top reader for the entire school, and for the top reader for each grade. Each grade’s progress will be charted on the thermometer in the display case outside the library. The grade that reads the most will win an extra Spring social event put on by Leadership!
